DRESS
CODE: Please
dress appropriately for a public outdoor adventure and for the seasonal
weather. Some paths are mulched/unpaved on hilly terrain so wear sturdy walking
shoes. The Aussie Outpost offers for sale convenient single packets of
sunscreen and inexpensive rain ponchos. Umbrellas are not allowed to open/use
while riding on the KangaRanger truck.
ACTIVITY LEVEL: The Center is located in the North Georgia Mountains and the terrain is
hilly. Visitors must be able to walk a minimum of ¼ mile. To fully enjoy all
the Center’s exhibits and walking trails, plan on walking 1 mile plus. Some
paths are unpaved, mulched, and hilly and are not handicap accessible. Our
KangaRanger truck can accommodate one wheelchair per tour with advanced
notice. For visitors in wheelchairs, using walkers, canes or having other
special needs’: a mobile Adult in their party must accompany them to assist as
needed at all times while on KCC property. This is a requirement
for admission. Upon arrival at KCC, visitors with mobility or special health
needs will be asked to sign a liability waiver.
RAIN/WEATHER: The tour will be held rain or shine. Please remember that weather
can sometimes be unpredictable, but it will be warm in the summer and possibly
cold in early spring and late fall. In the rare event of severe weather or
other emergencies, KCC staff reserves the right to cancel a tour (see Admission

Refunds will not be issued due to normal weather conditions (rain, hot,
cold, etc.). Umbrellas are not allowed to open/use while riding on the
KangaRanger truck.

PICNIC
BUTTERFLY GARDEN: Convenient to the parking area, and just behind the Aussie Outpost
