Bennett's Wallabies
(Macropus rufogriseus)

Bennett's wallabies are found in the south-eastern portions of Australia, in particular the island state of Tasmania.  The Bennett's wallaby is also known as the red-necked wallaby due to reddish fur on the back of the neck and shoulders.  These are one of the larger species of wallaby and can reach weights over 40 pounds (this is about the upper limit for a species to be considered a wallaby.)  This species is found in the colder regions of Australia and because of this Bennett's wallabies have a very thick wooly fur and have a darker coloration to absorb the heat from the sunlight.

(Note: A wallaby is a small to medium species of kangaroo, and there are dozens of different wallaby species.)
